Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Full technical transparency on our minimal, privacy-centric use of cookies, session headers, and browser storage tokens on the Matigo platform.

Zero Third-Party Advertising TrackersWe do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or commercial data brokers (such as Meta Pixel or Google AdSense). All storage technologies we deploy are strictly functional, essential for authentication, or necessary for assessment workspace reliability.

1. Essential Technologies We Deploy

__session (Session Cookie)Strictly Necessary

Encrypted Firebase Authentication session token sent with requests to verify user permissions (School vs. Marks Entrant vs. Administrator) and prevent unauthorized portal access.

Firebase Auth JWT Tokens (Local Storage / IndexedDB)Strictly Necessary

Maintains your authenticated session on the client side, allowing seamless navigation without repeatedly requesting passwords on every action.

Assessment Workbench Cache (Session Storage)Functional & Data Safety

Temporarily caches in-progress score entries in the browser to prevent data loss if an examiner's internet connection fluctuates before saving.

Anti-Bot Nonces & Form TimestampsSecurity

Temporary client-side verification tokens to detect automated spam bot submissions on public registration and contact forms.

2. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. However, blocking strictly necessary authentication cookies (__session) will prevent you from signing in to the school or examiner portals.
